Split Pea Soup

This soup is super easy to make, protein-packed and full of fiber! Feel free to add ham bone, as traditional pea soup recipes often call for, or skip it altogether!

Ingredients

2 ¼ cups dry split peas

4 cups chicken stock

2 cups beef broth

¾-1 yellow onion, finely chopped

1 small/medium russet potato, finely chopped

3 celery stalks, finely chopped

2 carrots, finely chopped

4 garlic cloves, diced

Redmond real salt, pink himalayan salt or sea salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

2 bay leaves

Garam Masala seasoning blend, to taste

*coriander, cumin, black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon*

Instructions

Put split peas into crockpot.

Finely chop onion, potato, celery, carrots and garlic - add to crockpot.

Pour 6 total cups of broth into crockpot, stir.

Season to taste (use a generous amount so the flavor absorbs into the mixture).

Add two bay leaves.

Cook on high for 6 hours.

Enjoy!
